It isn’t her most recent single, but it’s certainly a great place to start while considering preordering the hotly anticipated forthcoming LP; ‘Rhinestone Tomboy’. I’m talkin’bout, the album’s opening number the soft rock with a lil country shuffle, “It Don’t Fade” from Oakland’s burgeoning voice of a new generation of singer-songwriters, Mya Byrne. The optimistic storyline of eternal hope and the love for ties that bind is soundtracked by an indelible and timeless vibe that will induce a walk in the park or two heads up and footloose.

Byrne’s voice, earnestness, and life’s journey all make for more than enough intrigue but if you need a lil more nudging, check out the sunny Jozie Zamjahn-directed music video. Follow the singer as she takes a stroll, soaking up all the good the day has to offer— It, like the song itself, is pure feel-good through and through.

You can stream “It Don’t Fade” and view its film, here at the GTC.

“On Rhinestone Tomboy, we are treated to a portrait painted with shades of Byrne’s youth, one spent listening to stacks of her mama’s dusty 45s, and thrift store 8-tracks blasting from blown speakers out the window of an old Chevy. Songs that opened the trailhead to a lifelong journey that informed Byrne’s musical landscape.” – KRS
