Irish psych songwriter Eoin Dolan returns with a heady track, “The Most Important Thing Is Peace Within Yourself”. About the critically acclaimed song and its video Dolan says, “When I pass away, the one message I would like to leave the world is that ‘The Most Important Thing Is Peace Within Yourself’. The writing of the song was greatly influenced by the teachings of S.N. Goenka. With respect to the music video, I wanted to create something that would explore the topic in more detail. The presence of the outside preacher is in stark contrast to the journey of peace from within”
Solitude, tranquility, or feeling in sync with one’s self is a twisty and never-ending journey, and if you’ve followed Dolan for any length of time, you’ve probably noticed that he’s on an evergreen path of discovery. This new single is further proof that the Galway songwriter’s pilgrimage to enlightenment is a constant education into awareness.
To be fair, the sewn-together clips music video has a trippy cult-like vibe, but according to Dolan himself, the meaning behind it may be more than meets the casual eye. “Through this artwork, I wanted to explore how people can search for peace within themselves rather than look for it off something or someone else. As many have said in the past, salvation lies within!”
