…got carried away, TIGIRLILY GOLD I Tried a Ring On

I’m a brand new fan of the popular sibling duo Tigirlily Gold. Discovering Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh’s rich harmonies and earthy realness via a pre-release snippet for their latest breakout single “I Tried a Ring On”. This awakening spurred a week-long deep dive into these North Dakota natives’ relatively lean but massively brilliant catalog of songs.
The new song is a personal one and one we can all relate to. When eagerness turns to disappointment. From exhilaration to embarrassment, the journey of feeling a slight bit foolish is a very human experience. Although it doesn’t feel good at the time, it is bound to happen again and now you have a powerfully delicate song to soundtrack those moments if it should. A song chockful of beautiful harmonies, picturesque lyrics, and so much sing-a-long power you’ll be humming it straight through your next heartache.
Starting over is never easy, but you can stream “I Tried a Ring On” and see its beautifully shot chapel-set music video, here at the GTC.

“We were noticing how many of the breakup songs in country music talk about how hard it is to get over someone, but another extremely hard part of heartbreak that not a lot of people talk about is the gut wrenching feeling of having to start over again when you truly thought you had forever with someone. ‘I Tried A Ring On’ tells that side of the story, and we are excited for people to discover this whole other side of who we are as writers and as artists.” – TG
