Oh the powers the soul has over us. Regardless of perceived or tangible, the pull is magnetic—in all possible orientations. To my ears, this is the foundation of the mysterious Lila Dupont’s recent single “There’s Something About You”.
Dupont’s vocals are sweet and when she delivers the title line her vocal agility is like a breezy lullaby. The song’s arrangement is a soft pop soundtrack and at the hands of renowned producer Scott Jacoby, Dupont’s composition and lyrics breathe openness. All in all, making the entire song experience a real treat for anyone who wants to feel something genuine.
There’s also a gorgeous music video co-directed by Samuel Eszenyi, Dylan Chalcraft, and Lila Dupont. It appears to be shot in the UK someplace but coastal towns can become somewhat similar, so I’m certain I could be corrected along the way—you can do just that by watching the short film and streaming the single here at the GTC.
