NEWS: Paul McCartney Oblivious About Nirvana?

The rightly much ballyhooed Dave Grohl directed documentary and subsequent star studded soundtrack centering around the famed LA recording mecca Sound City Studios, aptly titled, Sun City keeps getting better with each story recounted.

Paul McCartney recently spoke to the Kevin and Bean radio program and made mention he didn’t even know who he was jamming with when he and the remaining members of Nirvana hammered out the track Cut Me Some Slack

“In the middle of all of that, I didn’t know that I was in a Nirvana reunion. I thought I was jamming with a bunch of guys. It was only when I heard them talking, ‘Hey, we haven’t done this in 20 years or something!’ I’m going, ‘What are you talking about, guys?’ ‘Well, you know, we’re Nirvana.’ I must admit, I didn’t even know, I said, ‘Oh, OK, that’s pretty cool.'”

I guess when you out legend all legends you can be as oblivious as you want, eh? Right-on, makes for an interesting bit to the growing coolness that is one of the best rock-docs to come out in the past ten years.
