In all honesty, again, I still have not seen a second of the much-ballyhooed Disney+ series The Mandalorian. But there is a tad of light at the end of the tunnel, I have now signed up to the streamer. So, my next few weekends will be full of Baby Yoda’s silent seductive cuteness.
But what I have been following is our pal Pete Hopkins and his retro-rock outfit Get Back Val’s series of tribute songs on YouTube. All steeped heavily in the sounds of the 80s. Whether you are nostalgic for the jams of Billy Squier, Europe, or Queensrÿche, Hopkins has the bases covered as he proudly shows off his fandom. And the experience is a blast, a bit tongue n cheek, and a whole lotta heart. And people are loving it!
The videos will no doubt thrill the diehard followers of the Jon Favreau helmed saga. And you stream two of my favorite homages, now at The GTC.
