…what she says is true EP: KATE LUCETTA – Ways To Waste Your Life Away
Kate Lucetta – Ways To Waste Your Life Away is available at Bandcamp.

Stepping back just a bit, as I just recently ran across a beautiful 2018 EP by Australian singer-songwriter Kate Lucetta. ‘Ways To Waste Your Life Away’ is a 6 track charmer full of deep south Dixieland, folk and rootsy pop. Delicate and honest lyrics wrapped in an interesting array of instrumentation and told through Lucetta’s wispy vocals. A softness that almost masks the grit and realties of her words.
Every song is soundtrack ready but if you must get picky for your summertime playlist(s), check out the near gospel harmonies and bounce of opener “Won’t You Please (leave your wife for me)”, the finger picken’ goodness of “T-Shirt”, and the feathery story-song closer “(Never)/ Nothing’s Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me”.
You can stream the album, produced by Damien Sutton, and watch a lovely live performance of newer track from a forthcoming release, “Priorities”, below.

“Kate Lucetta is a part-time receptionist who would much rather be a full-time musician… She plays soulful bluesy pop songs about the every day, the mundane & the extraordinary. Kate plays guitar, ukulele, charango & will probably beat you at Scrabble.” – bio
