JUDAS PRIEST – Spectre

by Maria Haskins

The latest Judas Priest release, “Firepower”, is an absolute beast of an album. It’s packed with powerful, glorious metal tunes from a band that you might think would be happy just to rest on their laurels. If you have not listened to it, check it out. It’s the kind of release that will not just satisfy old fans but attract new ones as well.

“Spectre” is one of my favourite tracks on the album, and showcases all the band’s strengths and Rob Halford’s awesome vocals.

OWL – Believe

by Maria Savva

Experimental rock band OWL are back with an awesome new single, “Believe”. It’s the first new music from this band since “Things You Can’t See”, released in 2015.

You can get a free download of the track here.

OWL recorded the song at Overit Studios in Upstate New York between Chris Wyse’s tour with Ace Frehley and The Hollywood Vampires.

OWL – Chris Wyse (vocals/bass), Eric Bradley (guitar/vocals), Dan Dinsmore (drums)

SOCCER MOMMY – Your Dog

by Neil Schiller

Soccer Mommy is the moniker of Sophie Allison, an indie musician who has been releasing self-recorded material since 2015 and has, this year, released her debut label album Clean.

She quite often gets grouped with acts like Snail Mail and Japanese Breakfast because of the female indie/lo-fi vibe to her music. To me, she sounds somewhere between Sheryl Crow and Declan McKenna. This track is from Clean which came out in March this year. It’s a decent record and one you’d be well advised to give a listen to.
