My New Addiction: That’s, Not About You – Haiku Hands
Haiku Hands are available on iTunes.
by Walter Price
I did something totally out of my comfort zone the other day. As the car next to me was rocking this undeniably addictive track for two stop lights, I asked the driver what it was. It was “Not About You” by Australian art collective Haiku Hands.
As you’ll witness below and comparisons all the rage, this outfit is a blended concoction reminiscent of Icona Pop, a more pleasant Die Antwoord, bits of Goldie Lookin’ Chain, and a whole lotta girl power. With that said, the simple fact is this, this is a banging track that has hips and heads uncontrollably swiveling and bopping. Nice.
It’s not about you
Shut up
It’s not about me either
I am my sisters keeper
Chiiiiilllllllllllll
It’s not about you
Shut up
It’s not about me either
It’s us verse the grim reaper
Chill, Chill, Chill, Chill
Your summer playlist just got an unapologetic bump of thump. And it just may cause you to talk to strangers in traffic, which is weird.
