BIG WRECK ‘HEY MAMA’

I’ve realized lately that I’m sort of (read: totally) addicted to Big Wreck’s 2014 release Ghosts. It’s an amazing album, the kind of album that keeps sneaking back into your mind again and again, and every time you hear a track from it, you are reminded of what a mind-bending, jaw-dropping release it really is.

‘Hey Mama’ is one of the excellent tracks from that album. For more of a taste, check out a double-shot that I featured as my Tracks of the Day a while back: ‘I Digress’, and ‘Ghosts’ – both performed live.

Ian Thornley of Big Wreck is currently at work on a solo album, judging by his Facebook Page, and the band is headed to Germany for some tour-dates in October.

And here is ‘Hey Mama’ – both live, and… not. Both versions are so damn good.

LEGS ELECTRIC ‘STRANGE ADDICTION’

I just got my first taste of Legs Electric’s brand new track and video ‘Strange Addiction, and holy cow, this thing is just the right kind of heavy, groovy, riffy goodness for a terrific Friday! Legs Electric is fresh off a successful tour in their home-country Australia, playing to full houses in Sydney, and are writing and recording a new album later this fall – definitely looking forward to that!

‘Strange Addiction’ is currently available at major digital outlets, including iTunes and Apple Music, Spotify, SoundCloud and CDBaby.

The band is based in Perth, and is made up of Laura McCormack on guitar, Ama Quinsee on lead vocals, Kylie Soanes on drums, and Abby Soanes on bass. If you are in Perth, you can catch them at the Astor Theatre on September 27th as support for Sebastian Bach’s “18 and Live Down Under” Australian tour.
