Gemini, the new solo album Macklemore is available on iTunes.

Macklemore’s new single, “Good Old Days” feat Kesha, is as much about nostalgia as it is about living in the now and being you. Those coming of age moments, love, spreading your wings, and aspirations seemingly endless. And as they’re happening, there is a notion that life full of possibilities. And it is, but do you recall or even cherish those fleeting memories. The snapshots in time that made you who you are or who you will become.
I wish somebody would have told me that
That someday, these will be the good old days
All the love you won’t forget
And all these reckless nights you won’t regret
‘Cause someday soon, your whole life’s gonna change
You’ll miss the magic of the good old days
The pairing of Macklemore and Kesha seems seamless. There is a natural connection with these two artists that is undeniable. A chemistry that helps propel this new track in the right channels of tactile honesty. Not a contrived pop machine product. I hope to see future collaborations between these two.
The video, directed by frequent Macklemore clips collaborator Johnny Valencia, beautifully sets the story straight. Capturing those endless summer nights in the woods surrounded by friends, road trips conjuring up the best and worst, brief periods in time that can and should last forever. Reminds me of the Dan Auerbach video for “Waiting on a Song” from earlier in the year. Not in direct cinematography similarities, but in capturing sentiments.
Macklemore’s new solo album, Gemini, is out now.
