‘Give Up’ 2003 |
By Claudia Price
“Never underestimate a girl’s love for her favorite band. Never think even for a minute, that she won’t defend them to her death. Because it’s not just the music that makes that band her favorite. It’s the guys, the gals. It’s the fans. People whom of which she has interacted with thanks to the band. The band might of saved her life, or just made her smile everyday. That band has never broke her heart and has yet to leave her. No wonder she finds such joy in her music.” – Alex Gaskarth
Part 5
The Postal Service – “Give Up” (2003)
Loved Death Cab For Cutie. Since Ben Gibbard is/was the lead singer of both bands The Postal Service was only a tiny step away from being one of the best bands in my former record collection. A little less rock and a bit more electro influences “Give Up’ used to be the perfect album to get in the mood for a night out or the next concert. And I went to many concerts. Mostly small bands in small clubs some were even unknown and it would give me the chance to discover the next big thing. It kept me up to date!
Band Of Horses– ” Everything All The time” (2006)
If I remember correctly I bought the album because of one song, “The Funeral”. It was in some kind of TV movie or episode of one of the weekly soaps I used to watch. It might have been “Gilmore Girls”. Could be a mistake cause my memory sometimes plays tricks on me but it was something in the same category. Learned to love the album (it took a while) and learned to love the band. Still do actually. In my opinion they’ve gotten better and better over the years. Would love to see them live one day. On my concert bucket list Band Of Horses is way up there. let’s make it happen!!!
