Bob Dylan Can’t Chill-Out

The Bootleg Series Vol. 10 –
‘Another Self Portrait (1969 – 1971)’

By Walter Price

It looks like Bob Dylan is going to be taking some time away from his welding of gates to be a very busy man! A man in his 70’s will be more active in the coming months than most people a third of his age.

Dylan has recently released his masterful multi-disc The Bootleg Series Volume 10 – Another Self Portrait (1969 – 1971) to great reviews and fan excitement. I have only heard a small portion of the collection and I say “Dig it!”.

But Dylan isn’t stopping there, no sir. He plans to release a massive box set on 5 November. This is what his website has to say about the must have The Complete Album Collection, Vol. 1:

This CD boxed set contains 35 studio titles (including first-ever North American release of 1973’s Dylan album on CD), 6 live albums, 2-CD “Side Tracks,” and hardcover book featuring new album-by-album liner notes by Clinton Heylin and new introduction by Bill Flanagan.

“Side Tracks” brings together for the first time two discs worth of previously released non-album singles, tracks from Biograph and other compilations, songs from films and more.

And there will be some sort of special edition harmonica shaped USB thing-a-ma-jig that will contain the whole package! I truly need to advance my technologies over here….

This box set will set you back between $255 – $300 (US) so save up or whatever you have to do, this will be the ultimate gift for sure!

And, then, Bob plans to continue his world touring agenda by hitting up Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy & The UK. All starting 15 October, Hey that’s tomorrow!

All of this at the grand age of 72, kinda makes our chilling-out on the sofa all day seem like a bad life choice.
