Painting Americana scenes in songs has a long and storied history. From the Appalachian folks, Guthrie, Dylan, Prine, and the like have all captured our imaginations with the words they’ve sewn together. In that grand tradition, Athens, Georgia’s Adam Klein has a dark and beautiful set of cinematic tales called ‘Holidays in United States’.
According to Klein, his part folk and noir narratives of modern landscapes isn’t always pristine experiences… As Klein has a bold sense of phrasing at times that’ll grab you by the consciousness and leave lingering contemplation. This 8-track album is a journey worth embarking on and no better place to start than the start. Track 1, “Blood on My Hands”. A hauntingly twisted and guilt-ridden tale.
