Townshend vs.O. Direction?

You’ll never guess Who said they like One Direction and their new crapfest single “Best Song Ever“? You’ve guessed right, it is Pete Townshend!

According to RollingStone.com there is some sort of similarities in One Direction’s “Best Song Ever” and The Who’s majestic “Baba O’Riley’. Supposedly there were rumbles of a lawsuit from The Who on these darn internets that got OD’s fans all moist and shaky.

First of all, I don’t care.

What I do find awesome is what Mr. Townshend had to say about music in general. He is a man of reason.

“The chords I used and the chords they used are the same three chords we’ve all been using in basic pop music since Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran and Chuck Berry made it clear that fancy chords don’t mean great music – not always. I’m still writing songs that sound like ‘Baba O’Riley’ – or I’m trying to!” -Pete Townshend (RollingStone.com)
