The NEW Bardots

by Walter Price

NJ supergroup The NEW Bardots return with a blistering Stones-style rocker “Just Another Dance In The City”. Produced in-house by bandmates Gar Francis, Dan Skye, and Wayne Olivieri, this gnarling zeitgeist track is straight-up rock n roll at its fist-pumping finest.

The house is broken
Walls are crumbling down
The speaker’s broken
Ship has run aground
Fat cats are so hungry
Pissing on our scroll
All the rabid monkeys
Doing as they’re told
It’s just another dance in the city…
And the band is playin’ that same old tune

On harmonica, Myke Scavone shared his experience working on the single, “Having the great privilege to play on this song by the New Bardots was a high point for me during the lockdowns. Besides being extremely talented they are a great bunch of guys. As a singer, I have to say I was blown away by the job Wayne O. did on the vocals: Superb! Gar and the rest of the band are in lockstep on this rocker as never before. Add to that the songwriting combo of Wayne and my old Doughboys’ co-writing partner, Gar Francis and you’ve got the perfect Rock n’ Roll Tsunami. I love these guys!”

And what a tsunami it is and for those about to rock, you can watch its lyric video before anyone else, here at the GTC!

Coming back together from their early roots of the NYC music scene (CBGB’s, Max’s Kansas City, China Club) to write and record together again. Lifelong friends and former bandmates, Gar Francis, Wayne Olivieri (Rockids), former bandmate Dan Skye (Olivier’s Twist) and new drummer Johnny Rago are four New Jersey veterans out to save Rock and Roll from extinction!” – bio
