…history to make, THE CLOCKWORKS – Feels So Real
The Clockworks – Feels So Real is available at Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud.
by Walter Price
The Clockworks return with another powerful post-punk jam chockfull of late-night imagery. “Feels So Real” is another churning zeitgeist single that puts new realities as one searches for hope/love/something to fill the voids. And fans of Jesus and Mary Chain, My Bloody Valentine, and Swervedriver are going to dig this low-slung rocker.
It’s a state of the times
That time’s at the stake
When there’s history to make
Tripping over bottle tops, skip round syringes
Trollies in the river and gates off their hinges
It feels so real to me
There’s a laugh on a park bench
And doves on the scene
The city’s the size of
The places you’ve been,
The people you’ve seen around
Sirens whine
As hopefuls line
Up for the club
Looking for love
In the dark
Blind man’s bluff of the heart
Directed by Oscar J Ryan, the film finds the band donned in Reservoir Dogs-esque attire while they traverse the nighttime streets, alleyways, and underground stations as the realization that not everything is as it is perceived. A film nicely telling the song’s storyline in hallucinogenic Repo Man fashion. But it does leave one to wonder, “What’s in the trunk?”…
You can stream “Feels So Real” as well as witness the indie-film stunner music video, now at the GTC.

There’s a buzz in the air
By the glow of the lamps
The city’s a lady
The city’s a tramp
