Strobegirl – Alice

StrobegirlI fell into my own dark wonderland, the white rabbit said I was remarkably on time…

There are several reasons why I’ve been fascinated with UK’s indie DIY electro-mum (Heather-Jane) Strobegirl. She really loves the process of putting music together, she respects the innovators, creators and artists who did it so well in the first place and she has the passion. Why else would she do this from perhaps her home or a small studio some place for little or no financial reward. Her love of music shines and her new single “Alice” goes many places reminiscent Siouxsie Sioux meets Grace Slick and it is superb indeed. I dig the whimsically sparse opening as it builds into its near surreal body. The star of the track is the power of perseverance in Heather’s voice, a turbulent past year seems have made her resolve stronger and we the listeners are the recipients of the musical outcome. Hail to the indie artists and hail hail Strobegirl!
