Still Ginger At 73

The GTC would like to wish a very Happy 73rd Birthday to Peter Edward Baker! You know him simply as, Ginger.

One of the most influential musician to come out of the 60’s, Ginger has been a driving force in Cream, Blind Faith, Ginger Baker’s Air Force and a brief stint in Public Image Ltd. His fusion of Jazz and African style rhythms was extraordinarily innovative at the time and has influenced hundreds of modern drummers across all genres of music for nearly 50 years.

The fact that Mr. Baker has lived to be 73 is somewhat amazing on it’s own. His volatile mix of temper, booze, drugs, ladies and self righteousness could have killed most.
