The gift that keeps on giving, Moa Holmsten’s 2015 tribute to Bruce Springsteen ‘Bruised Arms & Broken Rhythm’, has yet another substantial single, “State Trooper”. From Springsteen’s 1982 masterwork ‘Nebraska”, Trooper is a 4-track brood of a narrative, heavily influenced by Suicide’s “Frankie Teardrop”. Which aides in its bleak undertones. While Moa’s take doesn’t stray too far from the original, she does interpret it in a shadowy noir style, adding an even deeper and crisper cinematic texture.
The new Klara G directed video explores the middle of nowhere isolation while riding with (or trying to escape from) your demons vibe. It is a beautifully done fright. Bravo.
