“In Kandur’s case, living five years away from his hometown, the similarities he saw in philosophy, art, and music that originated separately in San Francisco and Turkey, gave him comfort of being home…”, reads a statement promoting the beautiful new single from Ilkercan Kandur. “Rumi”, a poetic psych lullaby, finds this artist taking inspiration and direction from a dream.

“I’ve written this song after I’ve heard it in a dream; I was chilling with poet Rumî and a few Whirling Dervishes, and they were citing one of his famous poems, then somebody handed me a guitar and we were singing this song – then I woke up… Trippy.”, Kandur explained in a DM exchange.
