…time to save, JOY AUTUMN Rainy Sunday
Joy Autumn Rainy Sunday EP is available on Bandcamp, Deezer, Apple Music
by Walter Price
What are your sacred rainy Sunday albums? Perhaps something by Bon Iver, Rhett Miller, The Jayhawks, Of Monsters and Men, or Coltrane comes to mind. But as the seasons are at their inevitable transformation, let me introduce you to a new EP to soundtrack your moody overcast days. Joy Autumn’s aptly titled; “Rainy Sunday”.
A 5-track set that’s rooted in soft lullaby ballads, a couple teetering on those lovely folk voices from Galway, and finally crescendoing into a swelling emotional pop anthem for the ages. At the end of the day (rainy or not), these tracks are further proof of Autumn’s ability to not only write and arrange (along with a few friends along the way) songs that invite you to feel something but that Autumn has an uncanny connection to the atmospheres she’s crafting. Which is all the charm as you sip your tea and watch the clouds drift by.
You can stream your new hazy days’ album, “Rainy Sunday”, here at the GTC.
