…all this singing in your screen will help it be alright: QUARANTINE MUSIC Pt. 1

Quarantine Music Pt. 1 is provided by artists who care.

by Walter Price

As the worldwide pandemic and subsequent sequestering linger on, along with all the obligatory loneliness, paranoias, financial struggles, and/or fill in the blank___. There’s one thing we all have in common, the need to feel connected. Not just with partners, family, or friends but the normalcy that our favorite music artists have always brought us. And in these trying times, many, music makers are staying connected to their fans by releasing homemade tracks that are a super-mix of thought-provoking and smile-inducing.

Each week, we’ll share some of the crème de la crème. And please keep in mind, that many of these tracks have personal donations or vast reaching charities connected to them. So help the indie artists and the causes that will get us all through this ordeal.

You are not alone…

The Offspring – Here Kitty Kitty

!Hey, Guys! Like many of you, we are going a little stir crazy these days and we wanted to do something fun to put a smile on our faces, and hopefully on some of yours too. This song, Here Kitty Kitty, was originally by the Clinton Johnson band, and not by anyone in that recent documentary we all got caught up in.

“The Offspring wives were group texting recently, and while they all agreed that they truly love their husbands, there are times when they’ve absolutely felt like feeding us to the tigers. In that spirit, we hope you enjoy this random song & video.” – The Offspring

Pauline Andrès – Elastic Heart (Sia cover)

“I happen to be on lockdown in a studio (that is not mine) in the middle of Nashville and I’m working on a new album. But without access to my band…I got sidetracked and will be releasing a new EP in May that mixes electro and my usual brand of Americana. It includes a couple acoustic songs that belong to my “Acoustic Apocalypse” collection. Because you can be strong and feel all the feels.” – Pauline Andrès

Quarantine Queens (Samantha Preis & Anne Preis) – Comic Relief

“In the wake of this very serious global pandemic, we thought perhaps we could share some light and maybe even laughter for a few moments. If it is at all helpful to remember, we’re all in this together. In times of great adversity, it is important to come together to share both our suffering and strength.” – QQ

Pollyanna – A Light That Never Goes Out (The Smiths cover)

“It’s an escape song. Don’t you want to go out? I do. Ok, just kidding: stay at home, please! Or be careful. It is probably a song about being gay, closeted, and falling in love. It’s pretty sad that I have to twist the meaning of the song to make it fit with COVID crap. We live such trivial times. So long, romanticism!” – Isabelle Casier
