Back in 1986, you were happy jamming out to Madonna, The Bangles, Steve Winwood, Berlin, and something called Nu Shooz (I know, I don’t remember them either.). But there was one band straight outta  Manchester formed out of the ashes of fabled dark rock band Joy Division. That band is New Order and they had a song back in that year that held you captivated.

That track was “Bizarre Love Triangle”. A song that was no problem of mine and it was certainly no problem at the time to rock the solemness of this unique synth classic. Was it Goth, rock, pop, weird, awesome? Oh my, yes! A song exploring and exploiting the odds and ends of passionate love hit the spot back then and still resonates in the now.

I feel fine and I feel good
I’m feeling like I never should
Whenever I get this way
I just don’t know what to say
Why can’t we be ourselves like we were yesterday
I’m not sure what this could mean
I don’t think you’re what you seem
I do admit to myself
That if I hurt someone else
Then I’ll never see just what we’re meant to be

But over the years we aren’t the only ones who’ve dug into Peter Hook and company’s words. Nope, I’ve dug up three Titillating takes on one of favorite 80’s songs.Let’s enjoy.
