A love song from Dragland, the album, is available on Bandcamp.
by Walter Price
No better way to kick off a fresh new year than with a bit of love, dedication, and pure affection. San Francisco alt-country outfit Dragland (Adam Dragland, Brendan Getzell, Charlie Knote, Michael Carney) recently released a self-titled 7 track that moves in and out of honest emotions and real-life experiences. and their new single “You” focuses on a bond.
Dedicated to Adam Dragland’s wife, Jessica, you’d be hard to find a better way to celebrate a connection than writing such a powerfully beautiful ode like this. As with any of Dragland’s songs on the new album, the sound construction on “You” is hard to pigeonhole, but it certainly reminds me of Eagles era radio (the 70’s one) with hints of early 90’s alt-rock. Seductive rooted fervor.
The sentiments only to be backed-up by the home movie driven video. Personal life-changing moments, a wedding, and live band performances intertwined. Bringing it all together.
Happy New Year and may this track inspire you to celebrate the love(s) in your life.
