No Time to Explain
Lars Moston Weirdo

by Walter Price

Taken from their GTC Top Pick of 2023 LP, No Time to Explain, Murmur Tooth and Lars Moston have recently released an urban aquatic music video for the track “Weirdo”. Crafted by a collaboration between Marmalade Movies and Leah Hinton (who directed the indie film), it was shot in Berlin and features a cast of, dare I say, weirdos, dodging snowflakes and the result is a real hoot.

The song itself depicts a loveable oddball who thrives within her quirky sphere getting lost in her endeavors and pulling new souls into her orbit along the way. “Holes in all her stockings and there’s grazes on her knees/ Water runs right off her, she’s as holy as you need/ Lost in the carpark with a fistful of foolproof plans/ The gutter never looked so, so soft glow, let’s all meet there—Woah woah woah, she is a weirdo/ Don’t interrupt her when she’s onto something clever/ She’s all go go, she is a weirdo
If you can handle her then woah—Last seen at the bus stop with last night’s new best friends/Next stop is the last stop who’d have thought that we’d all meet there…”

You can stream “Weirdo” Remix and see its music video, here at the GTC.

Murmur Tooth // Lars Moston

The rather unlikely duo that is multi-instrumentalist Doom-Pop/Metal musician Murmur Tooth and House DJ/Producer Lars Moston have been exploring how their polar-opposite musical backgrounds can clash and combine. Their experimentation had resulted in this genre-defying assemblage, combining Leah’s composition skills and characteristic vocals with Lars’s production magic. The songs are dripping with layered harmonies and bursting with the weird and wonderful sounds of half-broken instruments, salvaged childhood toys, and repurposed household appliances. There isn’t really time to explain, so you’ll just have to listen.”- bio (Bandcamp)
