In just a few short years Leeds’ rock outfit KOYO have garnered a heap of well deserved praise and subsequent comparisons. From Radiohead to Wolf Alice and stops btw, I’d go back a bit and point out thoughts of James and The Breeders. Which you’ll find subtle, and most likely unconscious, nods to on the band’s recent what goes round comes round single “Circles”. A track that owes a ton of its heady powers to producers Tom Orrell and Mike Horner. Who let the track’s melodies, post-punk guitar, and smidges of psych find equal footing and allowed to flow smoothly. Unencumbered by too much studio wizardry, this single is a straightforward addictively catchy alt-rock gem.
