Not many talk about what happens after a fairytale’s happy ending. What are the lingering perils, the consequences the ‘heroes’ must carry, and what responsibilities and expectations of self-reliance does the ‘princess’ of the tale have to toil with? These contemplations are the foundation of German artist Grandios Sensibel’s (Melissa Klingelhöfer) recent art-pop single, “Bloddy White Horses”.
With its unparalleled arrangement explained by Klingelhöfer (translated from German), “Drums made from palm tree sounds and a tenor ukulele formed the basis of this song, piano, double bass, ocarina, and strings complete the whole thing.” The text continues the well-known Disney Princess story – after the “happy ending”.”, the stark storyline begs the question, How long is Prince or Princess Charming accountable for their rescue?
Ponder this puzzle for yourself and stream “Bloody White Horses”, here at the GTC.

Bloody bloody bloody white horses
All your princes were drowning
while they kept you –
while they kept you breathing
When little princess
will you heal and grow
When little girl
will you stand on your feet?
