Sweden’s heavy textured lo-fi indie rockers Golden Kanine have dropped their new video for “Cruelty” from their current release “We Were Wrong, Right” (Glitterhouse) and it delivers on many levels. The track already an album favorite has now a video that should storm MTV worldwide, if things were just in the world. The Björn Wahlström directed clip follows a young lady, played by the ultra talented Emma Wahlgren, through a surreal, isolated and youthful angst filled afternoon that I can reluctantly and  mesmerizingly relate to. Then the transition to the filly Butoh-esque dance sequence throws the viewer into unknown and uncomfortable territories, which is fantastic and more than drives the tracks message home. Golden Kanine’s “Cruelty” as it stands could possibly rejuvenate the hopes for indie rock’s rise, once again!
