Alex Rech Headed East
“The feeling of excitement you have before setting out on this journey was what inspired me to write this track.”
by Walter Price
Driller’s Scotland based Brazilian Alex Rech is going solo or at least for ‘My Way Is The Highway’ EP out 15th of June. The debut single “Headed East” finds the guitarist leaving behind many of his eager 80’s era axe acrobatics he showcased in Driller’s 2013 ‘The Final Deal’ in favor of a more defined Southern rock flavor specifically à la The Marshall Tucker Band with a little Brownsville Station salted in.
Here is what Rech had to say about the new single, “The shoreline of Brazil is located along the entire east coast of South America. Heading east means that you are heading that way to spend your holidays at stunning beautiful sunny beaches with friends and family. The feeling of excitement you have before setting out on this journey was what inspired me to write this track.”
Staring at the morning
I’ve made through the night
I can’t wait, hit the road and live again
All those kinds of feelings, emotions, sensations you feel
When you’re living in a dream
You certainly get that feeling listening to the track Alex. I’ll also say that although there is still a bit of rawness in his production, the new direction of “Headed East” is going in the right one.
