The sound of a pedal steel can drive most two-steppin’ folk into a moist frenzy. I’m no exception. Another thing that can get the sticky juices flowing in this modern too many glass houses era we’ve all been sucked into is a straightforward truth teller. One such hero of free speech (real talk) and good ole honky tonk sounds is the unapologetic Wheeler Walker Jr. Who just dropped the best album of his already storied career, ‘WW III’. Say what you will about the current (formulaic) state of country music, but what you can not say is that there isn’t realism left as you listen to this ode to family and diversity of an album.
