GTC REWIND: GLASS HEART STRING CHOIR Divinity
Glass Heart String Choir Divinity is available on Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify…
by Walter Price
Glass Heart String Choir (Katie Mosehauer and Ian Williams) has always created within what some refer to as The Lacuna Effect. That space between dreams and reality and their delicate new single “Divinity” doesn’t stray too far from what fans have come to expect. But with this track, the weight of many of life’s inevitable circumstances has inspired this balance between tribulation and hope.
In a quote, provided to the GTC by GHSC, vocalist Williams speaks about the single’s backstory, “Even though the song’s central realization is that of the hopeless, I somehow remain a blind optimist regarding the future. Maybe, in the awareness, that the approach we’ve taken doesn’t work, our eyes are opened to another door. Let’s try that one.”
Mosehauer’s strings arrangements and Willliams’ soft as a forest breeze vocals always induce an emotional experience, and “Divinity” will certainly do the same. Perhaps, introducing this song to us all during a time of so much worldly turmoil, maybe the experience will resonate more than usual.
You can stream this beauty in the melancholy single as well as see its GHSC-crafted music video, here at the GTC.

These hands were never made to work
With gossamer, or hummingbirds
I hurt the ones I try to keep
A harbinger of injury
It’s no place for a butterfly, a startled heart, divinity...
