Steve Jones #58

Steve Jones

The GTC would like to wish a very special Happy Birthday to guitarist Stephen Philip Jones or just Steve Jones to his mates. Glad to see ya make 58!

Sure, you know that he co-founded The Sex Pistols  in the mid 70’s with his good friends Paul Cook, Glen Matlock and later on John Lydon joined in on the punk fun. But did you know that Mr. Jones has been all over the musical landscape either in front of the mic or behind the scenes?

Besides being in a slew of bands he has also worked with Bob Dylan, Duran Duran’s Andy Taylor, Iggy Pop, Insane Clown Posse, Buckcherry and Lisa Marie Presley? And to top all that he is a fine actor as well…Not bad, you Punk pioneer!

Now some words from your eloquent mouth…

“I couldn’t care less about what people think of me! I do what I do, and I don’t care about what other people think is cool. I don’t care about image!” – Steve Jones

“I’m tired of Glen Matlock saying he was the songwriter for the Sex Pistols. I co-wrote as many songs… but I don’t go shouting about it.” – Steve Jones

“When I was in the Sex Pistols, I listened to Boston. But I couldn’t tell anybody, you know. I’d get lynched.” – Steve Jones

“I wouldn’t mind working with Queens of the Stone Age, doing some guitar stuff on that. Even Arctic Monkeys. I’d like to do be a bit of guitar with them guys. I’ll play on anyone’s record to be honest with you.” – Steve Jones
