Of course, if ya think on it a bit, Santa is a through-and-through blue collar in a red suit. So, this Christmas, instead of weighty cookies and gassy dairy….Pour that ol’ Saint Nick, Kris Kringle, Yule Elf (for our Norweigan readers, Jultomte) a Big-O pint of beer!
Well, that’s the straightforward message of The Doohickeys’ honky-tonk jingle, “Santa Needs a Beer”. And it, in part, goes a little something like this, “Ol’ Saint Nick needs a break Cuz it’s a lot of hard work/ To bring Christmas cheer/ It’s just him, his sleigh And a couple of flyin’ reindeer/ Since I know that it ain’t easy doing this year after year/ I don’t put out milk and cookies/ I pour that man a beer…”
Well, this is something we can all get behind this Christmas Eve and as you are nestled in your Natty Light slumber, don’t be surprised if ya don’t hear a “Ho Ho YeeHaw!” coming from your kitchen that most special of nights…
