Former The Sunday Reeds vocalist/bassist Romana Ashton returns with a solo project called Romana Ashton and The Reeds and the brooding poetical new single “Bring Me”. And fans of Ian McCulloch, Lydia Lunch, and Siouxsie Sioux will be cheering Ashton’s return to the music scene.
In a somber low hum, Ashton and Co. bring us stark counterbalancing imagery with this new single. Arguably, “Bring Me” is not immediately as catchy, if you will, as The Sunday Reeds’ “Cult Girl” or “Stem Filled Vase”, this new one has enough of the post-punk airy darkness to welcome longtime fans back into the fold and is sure to invite a whole new audience of heavy symbolism to join the party as well.
