Kenny Wayne Shepherd – Deja Voodoo
by Darcia Helle
We’re feeling the blues here on the Rock And Roll blog today. Let’s go back to 1995, to the album Ledbetter Heights by Kenny Wayne Shepherd. He was 18 years old, and his guitar playing was already masterful. Our track of the day is called Deja Voodoo, and it’s off that first KWS album. The singer for this album was Corey Sterling. He soon left the band, and Noah Hunt became the main voice of the KWS band. Kenny Wayne Shepherd also does his own vocals on one album.
I’ve seen this band live a few times. They radiate intensity and energy up on that stage. And those guitar solos, stretched out during a live show, are phenomenal.
Here’s Deja Voodoo:
THE DAMN TRUTH – Heart Is Cold
“Heart Is Cold” is a brand new single from Montreal-based band The Damn Truth, and it’s taken from the band’s upcoming album “Devilish Folk”. It’s an amazing track: I just love the fuzz, the riffs, and the groove, and singer Lee-La Baum’s vocals are simply amazing.
The band is a three-piece made up of Lee-La Baum on vocals and guitar, Tom Shemer on lead guitar, and Dave Traina on drums.
“Heart Is Cold” can be bought and streamed right now:

“Devilish Folk” is set for release July 8th via Fineline Records / Warner Music Canada.
The Lucky Dutch – Ruin
by Maria Savva
“Ruin”; the second single from The Lucky Dutch’s new album, “Cadillac Coffin”. This is an awesome classic rock/blues track and a great follow-up to their first single “Darkness”, which I featured on the blog in April.
You can get a copy of the album from iTunes
