Pony League are available on Bandcamp.
by Walter Price
There was a time when AM radio ruled the radio waves and large cars filled with carefree folks rolled down open highways cranking story-songs from the likes of the Eagles, Graham Nash, Warren Zevon and Jackson Browne.
Atlanta’s Pony League have a new single, “Mile Marker Dance”, from their forthcoming albúm A Picture of Your Family (Bear Kids Records) that explores life’s uncertainties. The track metaphorically traveling ‘life is a highway’ and one must take a leap of faith and let life and love follow their long and winding courses. A nicely crafted and played story-song in an modern time when such a thing is a rarity. Classic.
The sound of “Mile Marker Dance” harkens back to Browne and Zevon in a piano-heavy ode to that before mentioned era and will certainly find a home in your road-trip playlist. New album out March 23, 2018.
