Have you always wondered what it would have been like if John Waters had directed Randal Kleiser’s ‘Grease’? Agonize no more, LA-based Polartropica has your back. The dreampop star’s recent video for her single “In Another Life” is a queer reimaging of the fabled 70s classic. With Polartropica [Ihui Cherise Wu] in the role of Sandy Olsson, originally played by Olivia Newton-John and Tess O’Connor in John Travolta’s big screen Danny Zuko role.
Flanked by an unforgettable cast of characters filling the roles of rival Rydell cliques, Pynx & T-Birds, the film is a beautifully flamboyant extravaganza. Replete with dance sequences, tons of fantastic costumes and hot rods. All on the journey towards that kiss…Makes ya wanna ask, “How many love stories have been this dreamy?”
