WELL HUNG HEART – You’re Scared

by Maria Haskins

I’ve been following Well Hung Heart for a few years now and it’s a band that always rocks my world when I listen to them. This latest video is pretty damn wonderful (and funny), and the tune kicks some serious butt.

Well Hung Heart started out as a duo in 2011 with New Orleans born artist and performer Greta Valenti, and British guitarist Robin Davey. They’re a four-piece now with Greta Valenti on vocals, keys, and percussion; Robin Davey on guitar; Danielle “Chip” Lehman on bass and vocals; and Brad Jones + Justin McGrath on drums.

More about the band and their future plans, “The band is entirely self-sufficient and operates their own label, Grow Vision Music. The upcoming album, Songs for the End of the World, will be the first album from the new foursome-version of Well Hung Heart and will be accompanied with a visual album and followed by a feature-length Horror Film.”

SAINT APACHE – Amongst Vultures

by Maria Savva

“Amongst Vultures” is taken from Saint Apache’s new EP “Black Days”, which was released on 22nd February.

Saint Apache’s passion and energy comes across in the four excellent tracks on the EP. This is a band that put their heart and soul into their music and always produce quality songs with something to say. They’re one of the best live bands out there at the moment too. If you don’t have a copy of “Black Days” yet, it’s available at all the usual online stores, and a CD version is available via the band’s Facebook page.

BRYAN’S MAGIC TEARS – Ghetto Blaster

by Neil Schiller

I’ve definitely mentioned before that my favourite style of music is lo-fi, American indie rock. Anything with a slacker vibe to it, a bit of melody, and a sharp discordant contrast here and there. Like Pavement, The Pixies, The Babies, The Shins etc. etc. etc. Well, this would seem to be the perfect record for me wouldn’t it? If Bryan’s Magic Tears were indeed American, as opposed to French. Well, don’t I feel slightly stupid…

No, this is great. I love everything about it. I was so convinced it was a US band until I did a bit of research into them and discovered they were formed in Paris by Benjamin Dupont in 2014. So there you go.

‘Ghetto Blaster’ is from the band’s album 4 AM which came out last year. It’s a great record. I’ve been listening to it a lot over the last couple of weeks.
