Jody Cooper releases cancer charity single
by Walter Price
Germany based singer/songwriter Jody Cooper has himself a couple new this and that’s for your consideration. First up a new single “Immortal Friend”, a heartfelt if not heartbreaking track dedicated to the songwriter’s brother Robbie Cooper who unfortunately passed away in 2014 from a rare form cancer.
The track is certainly Cooper’s most tactile and stunning work to date. The subsequent DIY video clip is perfectly matched and you can see it below. All proceeds from the single will go to charity. Here is what the tunesmith posted about the song and video, “In order to help others suffering from this horrible disease, I am donating all the proceeds I get from the release of this music video/single to Marie Curie Cancer Care, a charity set up to give cancer sufferers and their families much needed care and respite in specially designed hospices; care that my brother was very grateful to receive in his lifetime and wanted to help them as much as he could through his ‘Human is Not Alone‘ initiative.”. You can purchase the single and help a great cause HERE.
On a lighter side, please check out a live clip of Cooper performing at the 2015 IFA event in Berlin earlier this year. His stirring rendition of “Medicine Man” was showcased on the iCandy stage to hearty crowd approval highlighting the strengths of this performer. You can find a studio version of the track on his Growing Up album via Bandcamp.
