GTC Weekly Top Ten 24 November 2014
“We have the power as the artists to raise awareness and change the future of the music business. Let’s use our brains to not only promote our music but to address the pink elephant
in the room…” – Nikki Sixx
Well, well, what a great week we leave behind.
The ongoing debate about how the internet works for artists continues, the GTC reader’s poll is a splendid look at some of the very best artists making music in 2014 and Germany’s GEMA continues to be a thorn in everyone’s side. Ah, the good times indeed.
We would like to send a special Thank You to Emma Swift for the amazing Q&A about her lovely sad songs and The Y Axes’ Alexi Belchere for stopping by to chat a few things their killer single/video Neon Street. If you haven’t already, check ’em out HERE. Sweet.
This past week brought the news Biffy Clyro are on a Rock N’ Roll rampage, Beyoncé makes a lot of money (shocker), Dave Grohl doesn’t know shite about New Orleans jazz, country music looks at embracing openly gay artists and it is about time, some people make fun of Morrissey, does anyone really care about YouTube Music Awards, The New Basement Tapes are killer Dylan-esq and what ever happened to The Donnas? Google time…
How was your week?
