We here at the GTC are honored to debut the new video by the ‘vintage slice of rough and tough British Invasion RnB’ outfit The King Dukes. “I Gotta Go”, with its roots in jukebox soul that thrives in its undeniable late-night authentic style.
The Michael Sides directed video is an end of the night inevitably becomes the next day conundrum. Like an omitted scene from a Guy Ritchie gangster film, the video is a low-lit pub scene featuring vocalist Marc Griffiths as he laments on those in-between hours promises.
Griffiths shared three facts about the making of the film:
1. “It was filmed in under 2 hrs in the ‘The Mothers Ruin’, the celebrated Music Venue in Bristol (That I founded it in 2007 and still own today) and it’s BBC6 Music’s Steve Lamacq’s fave pub.”
2. “It was the third video filmed in the pub that month! (St Pierre Snake Invasion had finished filming there just days before) It’s a popular location with Bristol bands!”
3. “The Cityscape is Bristol’s old city, despite being petrified of heights, I stood at the end of the building to get the final shot!”
