Dave Grohl & Cameron Crowe Make Films

The Hollywood Reporter  is telling the world that the Dave Grohl and Cameron Crowe directed documentaries will both land at VH1. They will be part of the network’s Roc Docs Series. Great news for us rock fans who like to watch basic cable.

Dave Grohl’s first directing project is called Sound City and tells the tales behind LA’s historic, if not most interesting to boot, studio. Dave captures stories from people who’ve recorded there like Stevie Nicks, Trent Reznor, Neil Young, Tom Petty and others. But if you want to blow your pretty little mind you have to see all the others who have filled the studios at Sound City. Are you ready? Click HERE

Now, get your head on straight….

Cameron Crowe’s Pearl Jam 20 tells the stories behind Seattle, Washington’s favorite band. The ups, the down, the in and the outs of 20 years in the music business. The film features all sorts of interviews from the band and something like 1200 hours of ‘rare footage. I am almost certain this is going to be a great one but I can’t watch the boob-tube for 1200 hours! Maybe they’ll shorten it done some.

You can catch Sound City starting August 17th and Pearl Jam 20 on October 12 in the US on VH1. No word on when VH1 Europe will start to air these must see events. We’ll keep you posted.
