Third Eye Blind – Third Eye Blind (1997)
Back again with too much information about me, me, me. I haven’t heard anything about Third Eye Blind’s latest work just in case it sucks. How could you get by their “Semi Charmed Life” in 1997? It was impossible and I would assume that 9 out of 10 people of my generation probably know that song. I turned 16 years old that year and started to work at an antique book shop which was in the basement of an old factory not far from where we are right now. Sound scary? It wasn’t, only when you were the first one in or the last one out. Anyway I was so behind technology back then that I still made my own mix tapes for my Walkman. It was my best friend on the bicycle ride from and to work. Ever heard Third Eye Blind’s “Motorcycle Drive By”? It’s the perfect riding song and still is. Anybody have a bicycle?
The Frames – “Fort The Birds” (2001)
Ever seen “The Commitments”? It’s a great movie. Nothing to do with “For The Birds” except for Glen Hansard playing the character of Outspan Foster. This album is good when you wanna be angry and even better when you wanna be sad AND angry. 2001 was a great year. Did the usual stuff. Hung out at the lake, went to concerts, slept in, studied a little bit and enjoyed life. Cause that’s what you’re supposed to do when you’re in college, right?!
