Chris Cornell’s ‘Songbook’ Tour Is Really About The Kids

This is going to be better than cool. Chris Cornell has announced a bare-bones acoustic tour called the ‘Songbook’ tour. Kicking off in San Diego, the one in California, on Oct. 15th. So far there are only US and Canadian dates announced. But this guy loves his job and fans and I assume European dates are soon to follow. If I’m wrong then, so.

Cornell will be playing tunes from his solo career, Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog. As you well know, Chris is one of the most successful rock songwriters and performers during the last 30 years, so every show should be filled with more than one familiar track after another.

He isn’t just trying to shovel more cash in his overstuffed trouser pockets , this tour has a purpose. Portions of the ticket sales will go to support the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation, a cause that helps children in need. They are setting aside a dollar from each ticket for this foundation. More of the proceeds will go to help ChildHaven‘s Creative Music Therapy Program Expansion.

So go see a fantastic show and help the kiddies at the same time! Win Win!
