THE ANOMALYS Glitch

What I’m about to say will make many diehard fans of this band want to slap me in the teeth. But as it were, I hadn’t, until a week ago, heard of the powderkeg outfit The Anomalys. Hailing from Amsterdam, these Slovenly Recordings mainstays have just dropped a psycho surf/garage punk LP that’s as raw and dynamic as they come.

It’s called ‘Glitch’ and its 9-tracks wanna make ya sweat and swivel at unhealthy speeds. For example, take its instrumental single “Panic”. This is a crackin’ example of what full throttle sounds like and serves this album like a gut punch calling card. If the lightning guitar-work and crown splitting beat weren’t enough, this single comes with a smokey performance music video that’ll have even the most discerning punk rockers converted to fans like ravenous zombies to brains!

It’s no matter what flavor of bastardized descendants of Dick Dale you’re into, Man Or Astro-Man?, The Reverend Horton Heat, or perhaps Laika & The Cosmonauts…it’s Monday, let’s crank this week up with The Anomalys!

“Glitch is twelve years in the making, with the band pumping out a slew of singles leading up to this release since launching their no-frills raw n’ raucous Slovenly epoch S/T LP in 2010. In the time frame since then and Glitch, The Anomalys kept their style of high octane garage punk n’ roll in the mind of the masses through a slew of single releases coinciding with sporadic touring throughout Europe and into the United States and down to South America with festival appearances at SXSW, Burning Man, Gonerfest, We’re Loud!, Funtastic Dracula, Cosmic Trip, Hipsville, Psycho Carnival, Curitiba Rock, and many others.” – bio
