The difference between love and faith is indiscernible. One could argue that one is not a thing without the other. And the recent single, “Wonder”, from Israel-based singer-songwriter Adar Alfandari is a delicate balance of both. As he sings the following lyrics, the duality is both evident and open-ended…
First, let me use the dialect in which I speak
To say something real
Our bulb may seem burnt sometimes but it’s not, just needs a twist
I’ve been walking barefoot all night
looking for the demons in our minds
You’re my late-night radio station, when I’m off you tune me in
A bag for all those times my hands feel full, you’ll pack my mess
I’ve been walking barefoot all night
looking for the demons in our minds
Let’s wander, far away
Till we’ll lose our way
And we’ll be bound to stay
And to further the thought of balance, Alfandari isn’t only a top-tier songwriter, but his vocal style is both classic and of the now. A cross between Jim Croce and J. Tillman, as the songwriter delivers delicate melodies with a powerful vocal dexterity that hears his highs crackle just a bit as the lows add the reinforce the storyline’s foundation. Vulnerable confidence through and through.
Adar Alfandari has never been to afraid to wear his convictions on his sleeves and this new single is no different. “Wonder” is taken from the forthcoming album, ‘Gold Dust’. Before then, you can stream this beautiful single and see its film, created by Yaniv Brenner, now at the GTC.
