There must be something in the water in Galway, Ireland. Again, another dynamic collective from the historic city is banging out one-of-a-kind rock n roll. In this case, the outfit is Zeros & Ones and their latest single “15 to 1” (feat. Tiny Murder) is a smorgasbord of texture, technique and wow. Just Imagine if Killing Joke and Ween joined forces and had themselves a shoegaze-style makeover. That’d be almost close to what you’ll experience with this song.

In a statement released to the GTC, the band explains the track further, “Singer/guitarist David McDonagh wrote 15 to 1 about his personal journey between relationships. It was an ugly process. But by the end, he was in the right frame of mind to welcome someone special into his life. And that’s exactly what happened.

“A song of two halves, the first half sees David recount some personal experiences from a time when he was pretty lost and looking for happiness anywhere he could find it. The vocal is delivered in Isn’t Anything-era My Bloody Valentine style (the open guitar tuning was also nicked from MBV classic Sometimes). The chorus features an uplifting male-female vocal, announcing that everything has actually worked out and someone special did come into his life. By the second half of the song David has endured the journey and come out the other side, reassuring the listener that he’s doing okay, he just needed to go through that process to figure it all out. “
