DUCKS! What an evergreen techno outfit. Their recent EP, ‘Into the Blue,’ continues their quest to stamp their brand of funky, discombobulated disco even deeper into the psyche of their fans.
Without saying that “Where Were You” is the best or strongest track on the 5-track release, it does harbor some super intriguing phrasing—not to mention DUCKS! signature retro European grooves. I especially internalize lines like, “Trying on some decades/ Dreaming up some new days/ Never learned the way/ But I got your message/ I left it…” Yeah, soak it up.
“Where Were You” is DUCKS! at their finest and ‘Into the Blue’ with its collaborations and continued groovy sprawling arrangements…this duo is only getting better and a guaranteed no end is in sight! Prost!
