NEW! VEGA STORM This City
Vega Storm This City is available for preview on Bandcamp

Over the past decade at Global Texan, only a handful of songwriters have been streets ahead. And one such favorite has been Irish artist Aoife Leigh (A.Leigh). Leigh returns to the post-pandemic music scene reinvented as Vega Storm, an alias she says was “born during a succession of violent storms“, and she’s shed her brooding torch songs for a nostalgic 80s-era guitar synth sound.
From her forthcoming debut album ‘Dashboard Pig’, Vega Storm has a preview single, “This City”, available on Bandcamp. And if you’re a fan of the glory days of post-punk synth rock, this track will take you back to those beautiful times when genres blended and thrived. Artists like Berlin, Tears For Fears, Killing Joke, and the like can all be felt in this new beginning for Leigh.
Written and produced by Leigh, this new project is a welcomed surprise in the evolution of one of music’s most promising DIY artists. You can preview what Vega Storm has coming with her debut release by steaming the dynamite “This City” here at the GTC.

“Newly emerged artist Vega Storm, a name born during a succession of violent storms, is the new solo project and musical guise of multifaceted musician/songwriter Aoife Leigh. Taking influence from late 70’s and 80’s post-punk, synth pop music, Vega Storm fuses energetic guitar, synth-driven melodies, emotive lyrics, and punchy beats to create her own individual sound. This City is the explosive debut single from Vega Storm’s upcoming album Dashboard Pig, a self-produced independently released album due in 2024.” – Bio
